Indra Hughes brings a personal programme to Summer Sonic with a strong West Auckland thread where this Lancashire lad now lives. He shares music that is special to him, and chats about people he's worked with. There's Bach in unusual guises, rousing 'curtain-raisers' of romantic British music, Mel Tormé, relaxing and beautiful slow movements and tuneful eighteenth-century organ concertos.

  • 1The Lancashire Connection A superb performance of Bach's famous Chaconne, we'll hear some very new music by Indra's near neighbour, the west Auckland composer Peter Hobbs. We'll travel on a musical tour of Lancashire and hear about Indra's old friend, the king of British light music, Ernest Tomlinson; there'll be a little gem from Thomas Arne (the composer of Rule Brittannia) and Mozart's most famous piano concerto movement will be tucked in as well.
