1A documentary on the Labour movement in the early 1900's. The beginnings of the 1913 "Great Strike" are described where violent clashes between union and non-union water side workers in Wellington erupted. The strike spread to include other unionists in sympathy with the strikers, including those at the Waihi Mine, and imprisonment of the strikers. The dispute lasted two months. Afterwards there were stories of victimisation of the strikers.
