The Sisters. Devoted sisters Nola and Naera are separated as children when Naera goes missing in the forest. Nola carries the pain of her sister's disappearance into adulthood, and when her own life begins to crumble around her, Naera appears to her with a plan to reunite the sisters forever.
Mataku delves into the unique and mystical world of Māori supernatural tales. Tapu, utu, ancient spirits guiding us are all subjects of Mataku. The series draws upon an oral story-telling tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.
