  • 3Te Reo Kahungunu Auckland may be the hottest radio market in New Zealand but Hastings is not far behind with five stations. For a brief period in summer 1985/86 listeners were able to tune to a sixth station with a unique sound. It was a bilingual station organised and staffed by a local Maori tribe. They are so delighted with its success they are hoping to run a full-time commercial Maori station which could expand into a national network.
