1Smoking ruins mark the spot in Libya where United States President Ronald Reagan believes he found the 'smoking gun' of international terrorism. Last week he ordered the United States Air Force (USAF) to strike at targets in Tripoli and other Libyan centres. The raid followed a terrorist bombing in West berlin that killed two people and injured 200 more. President Reagan insisted that the United States had "incontrovertible evidence" that the Libyan People's Bureau had been instrumental in organising this bombing. His reprisal raid left 13 dead, over 100 injured, won widespread praise at home, agonised and embarrassed some of his allies and has drawn support from non-aligned nations to Libya. Interview with the First Secretary of the Libyan People's Bureau, responsible for relations between Libya and Australasia, Shaban Gashut.
2Interview with Professor Carl Sagan who is a proponent of the nuclear winter theory. He contends a nuclear war would create darkened skies, freezing temperatures and worldwide starvation and disease. he is therefore a staunch opponent of United States President Ronald Reagan's Star Wars programme.
