A daily, midday, news package which featured an in depth interview about a current news topic. Viewers could phone in and ask questions of the key interviewee.

  • 1New Zealand Music The New Zealand music world is in turmoil. There are two separate issues. The first involves Television New Zealand (TVNZ) which is at odds with record companies over rights to play video clips. Should they have to pay to screen music videos as part of their programmes? The second issue involves a growing feeling of dissatisfaction at the amount of air time afforded to New Zealand music and performers by radio stations. There are claims that radio stations make little effort to promote local talent, however they argue that their listeners prefer to hear overseas content. Discussion and viewer talkback about the future of New Zealand music and a petition that has been set up to promote increased quotas of New Zealand music on both radio and television.
