A daily, midday, news package which featured an in depth interview about a current news topic. Viewers could phone in and ask questions of the key interviewee.

  • 1Parental Responsibility It has become popular to claim that people who commit crimes do so because of some trauma in their childhood; that behind most juvenile delinquents is a deprived and under-privileged upbringing with a lack of parental love. However, Opposition Police spokesman Norm Jones does not share this view. He advocates a 'get tough' approach to young offenders. Some of his solutions seem draconian to many New Zealanders, but he has plenty of supporters. He lays the blame for most of the juvenile crime at the feet of unconcerned parents and he believes they should be held responsible for their children's behaviour by the courts. Discussion and viewer talkback with Norm Jones.
