  • 1pope John Paul II has ended his visit to Wellington with a meeting with New Zealand Bishops. Earlier he held a special service for the sick and infirm and celebrated Mass at Athletic Park, where crowds were smaller than anticipated, but very enthusiastic. Several foreign journalists became involved in an angry confrontation with security officials at Athletic Park today just prior to the Mass.
