8Today marks 25 years since a young man called Ron Brierley began his own investment company called Brierley Investments Limited (BIL). It eventually grew into New Zealand's richest company. Sixty original 1963 shareholders joined in the celebrations. Ron Brierley revealed to shareholders that BIL and its Australian subsidiary, Industrial Equity, had been on the verge of a merger earlier this year.
