  • 1The richness and diversity of tribal life is well known to many. Iwi is identity for Maori and a source of great pride. However, for the past 150 years various Governments have failed to understand this, and have treated Maori as one people. The results have often been a failure. However, it appears these m mistakes have been recognised, and Government are looking to deal with Maori in a different way in the future, allowing iwi to grow in strength.
