  • 1Ngati, the first feature film written and directed by Maori, was recently screened at the Cannes Film Festival and was very well received. Now another Maori film, produced by Merata Mita, is being prepared for the big screen. It is called Mauri and was filmed mostly around the small East Coast township of Te Kaha.
