3Bush War A huge conservation battle is brewing over the North Queensland rainforests, regarded as one of the world's great natural treasures. It is expected that the Hawke Government will soon declare them a Wildlife Heritage Park, meaning logging in the forests must stop. Locals say this will be a death-knell to several small communities in the region. They argue that selective logging actually helps the rainforests grow, but conservationists disagree.
