A discussion forum about the ethics of the medical profession with Dr Derek North of the Auckland Medical School. His work embraces both the care of patients and the teaching of students. Medical ethics have been subjected to profound critical assessment over the past 12 months. An atmosphere of questioning and doubt has permeated the profession as well as the community. 1987 witnessed the inquiry into cervical cancer treatment at National Women's Hospital, which revealed an ever-increasing number of alarming practices. What are patients' rights? How can they properly evaluate their treatment if they are not given all of the facts?

A forum in which New Zealanders from all over the country are able to challenge those in the news - people whose decisions or actions affect the lives of others.
