Television New Zealand's flagship evening news bulletin.

  • 1Prime Minister David Lange has dumped Richard Prebble as Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs), saying he had been unable to resolve differences with him over the way asset sales should be handled. However it is unclear whether David Lange will have the support of Cabinet. Prebble has held a news conference explaining his version of events in which he has refused to step down from his other Ministerial portfolios. A look back at the often rocky relationship between Lange and Prebble as well as how the news has been received within Prebble's Auckland Central electorate, which has also found itself divided over Prebble's actions. The money market has reacted with extreme nervousness due to the political uncertainty.
