  • 1Sacked Cabinet Minister Richard Prebble has held a news conference to say he understands why Prime Minister David Lange sacked him from Cabinet and has promised to work hard toward the re-election of the Labour Government. A number of Prebble's supporters have been campaigning for his reinstatement, accusing the Prime Minister of being dictatorial. However, many within the Labour Party regarded Prebble as being the real power within the Government and were uncomfortable with the amount of power he had.
