  • 1The debate over whether the spelling of Wanganui should include an "h' has gone on for years and a recent referendum showing the public of Wanganui want the name of their city left alone has not appeased local Maori. This week they took their case to the Human Rights Commission claiming that the Maori language and culture are being belittled by the alleged mis-spelling. The case was dismissed.
