  • 1Interview with Dr Sharad Paul, whose medical practice specializes in skin cancer surgery and reconstruction. Sharad is a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at the University of Auckland and a Senior Lecturer in Skin Cancer at the University of Queensland, Australia. He also holds a Masters in Medical Law from the University of Glasgow and serves on the National Commission of UNESCO. Sharad Paul's first novel, Cool Cut, was published by Picador in 2007. He also owns an award-winning independent bookstore/cafe Baci Lounge which put profits into literacy and mentoring programs for disadvantaged children. In 2008, he was featured in TIME magazine in an article titled Open Heart Surgeon. In 2012, he was a finalist for the 'New Zealander of the Year' award and won the 'Chair's Award' - the New Zealand Medical Association's highest award.
