Māori Television’s award-winning current affairs series Native Affairs, offers analysis of the news from a “native” perspective.

  • 1Live from Te Poho o Rawiri Marae in the heart of Kaiti, Gisborne the four front runners in the Ikaroa-Rawhiti by-election go head to head to get their name at the top of voters picks in the upcoming by-election. Ikaroa-Rawhiti is the second largest Maori electorate and covers over 30,952 square kilometres. From the clamoring confines of its urban centres to the quiet isolation of its rural settlements Ikaroa-Rwhiti is a rohe of extremes. Native Affairs wanted to get a feel for what's happening on the ground in the electorate. So Native Affairs sent reporter Jodi Ihaka on a road trip through the hearty Ikaroa- Rawhiti.
