  • 1Sleeping in the same bed as your baby is one of the most natural behaviours for Maori parents. However 55-60 babies die each year as a result of co-sleeping. The National Maori Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Prevention Programme was established almost twenty years ago and is still publicly funded to support health organisations.
