1Paheka The word 'pakeha' was originally used as the Maori language term for European settlers, gradually coming to mean New Zealanders who are of European descent. Recently the word has been used to refer to any non-Maori New Zealander and sometimes to any fair-skinned person. Re-Think looks at who the 'pakeha' really are and what it means in today's changing society.
