It seems they couldn't quite believe this is happening. The polls and the pundits were not on the side. They are now seeing the possibility that the much loathed candidate who was fronting and reality show where he fired people is now about to take the helm of the largest military superpower in the world. The level of unpredictability. How wrong people got it. Just this morning, 98% chance of Clinton win was predicted. They'll all over 90 and how wrong it is Bain has lived people reeling. We going to head straight to Corin Dann, a political editor. Corin, described the mood. How was it? We've been outside with the world media the tramp campaign would not let us inside. They also vetoed local media to. The world media do with her have been in shock. Plenty of Trump supporters inside milling around tension with Clinton supporters milling around also. Shock is the way to describe how people in New York feel now. New York is a democratic states and city. It is turning to what the president will Donald Trump they? Will he do what he said he would do? Or will you be more moderate? It's possible he will come out tonight and try and calm things because markets will be playing on his mind. He needs to show some leadership and statesmanship. You're talking about shop locally. There's a lot of shock you to. What will a trump presidency mean for us here in New Zealand? Let's work through this with the markets. Big meltdown in local markets is coming. A Brexit style shock. You could see wholesale interest rates fall in New Zealand. The reserve bank Government is due to make a call on interest rates and a couple of days time. They will be having to rewrite that. Markets gyrate. They don't like uncertainty. They might come back and. In the medium to long-term in New Zealand, we visit that in terms of trade? Donald Trump is very clearly anti-trade and wants to make America great by penalising China. They could potentially started trade war. Those are the things that are a bit worried in New Zealand as a trading nation. The TPP is over. I will never happen. That is complete and utter history. Have to think about that Donald Trump will head the Senate and House of Representatives. That is an incredible amount of power for the Republicans. Some Republicans may try and block Trump on things. He will be able to make appointments to Supreme Court and judges. They will have huge implications not just for economy but what country America as in terms of values thanks for your dissection so far, Corin Dann outside Trump HQ. It's a funny old thing. Mathematically, Clinton can still do let but it looks less and less likely. The mood in this room has been extraordinary to watch. These people came here for a party. Metaphorically speaking Hillary was going to go through the glass ceiling. In the last three or four hours, it is all gone horribly wrong. The silence in the room they tried early on to be optimistic every time she picked up a state. We've run into a lot of famous people here. Katie Perry was here earlier on. My God, and the last couple of hours, there's a lot of explaining to do. How did the pollsters get it so wrong? This is a bunch of boats that all we wrong for the pollsters. A bunch of states all went the wrong way. As I say, mathematically she can still do it. A lot of people have gone home. There was a wave of people living in the last half hour or so. They concluded it's not going to be who night. M, we've heard reports of people leaving the Clinton party weeping. Thinking about the failure of the pundits in the polls, what do you think Donald Trump is done right that no one noticed? I don't think it's fair to say no one noticed because he's got 1 million more votes right now than Hillary Clinton has, but a lot of people are blinded. They could not concede a man who doesn't have a political background, who doesn't have the backing of his party, could go into a race, win the nomination, make the promises he did and still somehow get to this day and now win. They could not get the heard around the most unusual concept. A mate of mine from the BBC sees this as the biggest political story of the last 150 years. Forget whether you like Trump or not, what Trump has done as the most extraordinary thing we have seen in the modern political era and you cannot take that away from him. Work in the Senate, work in the house and you have got conservative rule in America for at least two years. It is been the most amazing night to be here. This has been history in the making. I hope you've enjoyed and New Zealand as well. Trump is sitting at 238, Clinton at 215. The magic number we're going for is to 17. The trend is Donald Trump screen right now. Fox called Wisconsin for Trump. Hold on to your seats because we're not going anywhere. You can see the smile and tapping those caps they were made in America. So many red caps. A sea of them. And looks really mild fear. Really low-key. You would expect from what we've seen of the Trump campaign and that would be volcanic, that people would be exploding with joy or anger. Give a time. It's not a done deal yet. We just heard from Corin Dann about how this will take New Zealand. For more reaction, let's go to Lucas De Jong in Auckland. This is an American, is a chamber event. We wanted to give a taste of what Kiwis who are very well linked to Americans are feeling. Michael, you have strong connections with America. What does this result means you of Trump takes about? Trump has a country in the grip of the stands right now. America is thinking about the decade which is what happens in the GFC. A lot of divisiveness in America right now. We have lived there for a long time and have just moved back, and is Kiwis, we're very happy to be here now. Bringing your friend, Peter. How do you feel about this result of that goes trumps way? It's a disaster. It's a disaster for America, a disaster for the world. Rahter polarising opinions. Like us, they thought this result would come in awhile ago. Diane, how you feel about the result is that goes Trump sway over Hillary? There is a revolution for change. At Trump gets through, I figure will show the country that there will need to be some change happening. Fantastic. Thank you. You ladies have been here for a while today. What do you think of it so far today? How does it affect New Zealand? Let's hope it's for the good will of USA and New Zealand. I've been here for 35 years married to a Kiwi. I'm the president of the American club. I think that will of the New Zealand because New Zealand looks to the United States as appearing representative of the Western world so were all watching with anticipation. We're staying here as late as it takes to get the result tonight. Erin, Tim, a lot of people having a lot of drinks but this is the man everyone is talking about. Hopefully, we find out very soon what goes on. The implication of that man a stunning to ripple around the world. Canada's immigration website crashed. BUT TOMORROW MIGHT BE A DIFFERENT STORY. We told the search term moving to New Zealand is trending. There might be a few calls to our immigration services over the next little while. If that was panned out to an international boat, people have looked at this. At the world voted in the American election. New Zealand would very much be in the Clinton camp. They have done polling on a worldwide context. 78% for Clinton and 22% for Trump. There's going to be a lot of shock that people will be absorbing. You're shot, right you? Last night he was saying you thought Hillary Clinton would win it. To be provocative, my beats of Trump has come true. I do know what to think. A lot of people are saying that they are scared. They didn't expect this. Many of us didn't expect this. It's a human reaction. I'm feeling emotional about it. The reaction is fear because in the lead up senior military leaders wouldn't want Donald Trump in charge of the country so when you had that type of message, you can't help but hold hope that it won't happen. When the stark reality does start to occur` pro Trump military leaders as well. The mechanism of the US government is so colossal that one person can't change it. When he goes to Washington, Washington doesn't change. People change to fit in with Washington. It's get back to my get Clinton HQ. People are scared her. Are they scared we you are? It depends who you ask. In this room people are scared and they are crying. I've just been talking with Cher and she was descended upon. People don't understand that. The difficulty here is will he really build a wall? Will he really drain the swamp? If he delivers on that, that's the stuff to worry about. God only knows what the Dow Jones is going to do. From New Zealand's point of view, you look to the trade deals. He's not as free trader, but he never was and neither was Hillary. In that sense, it doesn't really change. The president can only do so much. As the military, as the representatives and as the president and equal measure. Lord only knows what happens in the next couple of days and weeks and months, but there has been a part of rhetoric from the Trump camp That he's either going to have to walk back or explain. It's about to be a party there but it's a funeral. They haven't actually declared yet. Alan is called the race yet the Donald Trump but it's looking like it. OUR SEVEN SHARP SPECIAL CONTINUES AFTER THE BREAK. WE'RE BACK IN AMERICA GAUGING THE MOOD. STAY WITH US. Zovirax fights cold sores and cuts healing time by half compared with no treatment. So you can too. Bruce Springsteen's born in the USA plays quick electoral college update 244 for Trump. He needs to get to 270. M, what you expect to wake up to tomorrow in the US? Very good question. Trump is not technically there yet. First thing tomorrow morning here and in New York, the Dow Jones and the markets will opening go down. The dollar will be a big talking point. And then there are so many questions. You've got the gap between tonight and when he's inaugurated in January of next year. Tomorrow will be about what the hell happens now? Thanks for that, Mike. The New York Times has trumped at 95% chance of one. They had Clinton just this morning at an 85% chance to win. Those tables have turned significantly. That Corin Dann at Trump HQ. Want to know what Americans are going to wake up to, but one New Zealanders going to wake up to tomorrow morning? As Mike said, the going to wake up to a pretty rocky financial market. This is such a powerful country. It has so much influence over a country like New Zealand. John Key area in New Zealand will presumably try to reassure the New Zealand government that things won't radically change in terms of the relationship. John Key will have to work through that over the next day or so. The New Zealand government will come to grips that it is dealing with the Donald Trump president C. Donald Trump has an even arrived here at the victory party. Lord knows how long this night will go. The big focus is what's a speech he will go. Will he give signs and he's going to try to be more moderate then some of the awful rhetoric he was espousing during this campaign? The first thing he needs to do is give surety to the economy and the markets the result won't give anything to radical to begin with. But will he be able to achieve the things he wanted to do? Which bits Willie not do? It is mind-boggling. Thank you, Corin Dann outside Trump HQ tonight. It's all here on this piece of paper from the congressional newspaper. This poll was taken in April this year. More than half of Americans were dissatisfied with the government. THE 1 NEWS WEBSITE WILL HAVE ALL THE LATEST ELECTION UPDATES FOR YOU. BUT AS AMERICA USHERS IN A NEW COMMANDER IN CHIEF, WE THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY FITTING FOR THE FINAL WORD TONIGHT TO GO TO OUTGOING PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA. SEE YOU TOMORROW. HAVE A GOOD NIGHT, EVERYBODY. AND REMEMBER, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, THE SUN WILL RISE IN THE MORNING, AND AMERICA WILL STILL BE THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH. CALVIN HARRIS' 'MY WAY' # YOU WERE THE ONE THING IN MY WAY. # YOU WERE THE ONE THING IN MY WAY. # YOU WERE THE ONE THING IN MY WAY. IT'S JUST AWFULLY GOOD THAT SOMEONE WITH THE TEMPERAMENT OF DONALD TRUMP IS NOT IN CHARGE OF THE LAW. BECAUSE YOU'D BE IN JAIL. I'M NOT STOPPING NOW. WE ARE JUST GETTING WARMED UP. HAS ANYONE SEEN CROOKED HILLARY CLINTON TODAY? A MAN WHO CAN BE PROVOKED BY A TWEET SHOULD NOT HAVE HIS FINGERS ANYWHERE NEAR THE NUCLEAR CODES. # MY WAY!
