A reality prison experiment. The BBC Prison Study explores the social and psychological consequences of putting people in groups of unequal power. It examines when people accept inequality and when they challenge it. Some UK prisoners have been extensively tested for authoritarian, aggressive and racist traits to make sure they are psychologically balanced individuals. They have volunteered to take part in an experiment where they become prisoners and guards to find out if a system of inequality turns good men to evil.
