This year some familiar faces have departed but two new faces join the ranks when the company hold their annual auditions. As they celebrate their 60th anniversary, the dancers are flat out touring nationally and internationally to mark their milestone year. The pressure is well and truly on! The Royal New Zealand Ballet head overseas on their first international tour since 2011. They take on China and dance in 5 different cities. China is big, it’s full on and some dancers can’t cope with the pressure. After the tour they head straight into a huge production of the iconic Swan Lake. Every girl wants to dance the coveted role of Odette but who will get the star role? Rehearsals are immense and everyone is pushed to the limit. This series shows the highs and lows behind the scenes of the ballet as told by the dancers themselves.
