Brian McKeever's guide, Russell Kennerley, Can now see Zebastian Modin. He can pass that on to Brian McKeever And tell how far ahead the rivals are. He is the quickest of the three pursuers. Brian McKeever taking his place in history as the most decorated cross-country skier. Zebastian Modin can only let him go by as he passes. Brian McKeever, This will be number 12. Making the bold stance and coming towards the front early on As Sviatlana Sakhanenka. Edlinger has to respond quickly, And that is not easy on this incline. She was in front of her guide initially. She seemingly clips her own ski and went over. As they separate from their guide there is less chance Of stumbling blocks being met by any of the three in the provisional positions. Look at the gap that she has got. All four athletes set off at the same time. All in the same b2 classification. Sviatlana Sakhanenka grabbing this one by the neck. Sviatlana Sakhanenka, She is really going along in a nice rhythm. She is not jaded at all After a busy schedule so far at PyeongChang. It's another gold medal for her and her guide. Japan looking to earn their first points in PyeongChang. Czech Republic and Japan, So far masterful defensively. Finally the crowd gets a roar, And the Czech can put his powerplay to good use. Now it is a Czech. Audacious, but beautiful and accurate. It has hit the net. The defence had no clue what was coming to them then. That shot was slipped through the letterbox. That doubles the lead of the Czech Republic. Two moments in the Czech Republic favour Will separate these two sides In a repeat of the B2 world championship final of 2006. The Czech Republic delivers a lovely dose of icing on to a sweet cake. His second goal of the game. It means little now, But Japan went for it. That is the price you pay when you can't quite get it right at the other end. The final buzzer goes. Group b coming to a close within the Czech Republic having it over Japan. They certainly gave it their all, Japan. In the final curling session of day for There were four matches at Gangneung curling centre. The Neutral Paralympic Athletes and Great Britain were looking's strong For their bid for of final place. Britain struck back in the third. The skip guided her hammer stone into the house to level a score. On the fifth, Nielsen through a double take out attempt to limit the damage. Great Britain trailed five - 2. It was all over in the seven when they couldn't execute a tap for two. Britain had then seen enough and conceded the match. The Swiss franc have produced some mixed results so far. It ended up being a close encounter, Canada just short of winning in regulation. The match went into an extra end. The takeout attempt ended in disappointment. More terrific shotmaking from Germany. But Norway fought back and close the gap. It was all even going into the last end. Still to come,... Henrieta Farkasova has been imperious in skiing. At the Gangneung hockey centre, (all perform exciting drum music) ( cheering) The woman's classification Alpine skiing saw the giant slalom event take place in the visually impaired class Perrine such a good time early on. But the ever dominant Farkasova quickly obliterated her time. Britain's Menna Fitzpatrick was second-fastest. Which meant Farkasova Fitzpatrick and Perrine were primed for the medals going into the final run. Melissa Perrine did the unthinkable yesterday. Started in sixth in the slalom super combined And manager come away with a metal. This is her third game. This is the first time she's one a Paralympic medal on day four. She has given herself another on day five. Huge cheers from the Australians. Great Britain have Menna Fitzpatrick. An Army skier in her own right nearly twice age. It doesn't matter. .47. There's just one more skier to stop Britton from taking gold. Who can stop them? There the best in the world. That is the answer to that. This lady doesn't know what second position as. The Slovakian pairing. Yet another goal. Oh, it's mesmerizing. 5.34 seconds of difference. A difference of five and have seconds between these two. Absolute wonders. Two more goals in Sochi. That's how the visually impaired giant slalom finishes up. It was redemption day for Bochet. Setting the fastest time of runs. In the final run, it would take something very special from Rothfuss and Jepsen to overcome Marie Bochet. Mollie Jepsen. Her first Olympics. She has taken some of the limelight away from Marie Bochet. By 3.54 seconds, Jepsen guarantees herself a medal. But what colour will it be? Rothfuss, three silver medals. It's going to be tight here coming into The final drop down. The last turn. Three gates to go. Just to beat that 22572. She has done it by just over half a second. It's going to be another medal for Andrea Rothfuss. The Queen of the piece, Marie Bochet. We are looking at a Hattrick of medals for Marie Bochet. She's 24 years of age. She's looking good for the safe time. That will be enough to win the gold-medal. She does it again. It was comfortable. Bochet with yet another gold-medal. Marie Bochet has done it again. Rothfuss surely second. And Mollie Jepsen wins the bronze for Canada. He they are the podium for the women's giant slalom standing. Germany was also looking to redeem herself. But she was unable to match Van Impelen's time. Japan's Muraoka set the fastest time. Claudia Loesch was the third. Germany down the field, Claudia Loesch, Van Impelen and Momoka Muraoka were into the final run. This lady hasn't had the games she or maybe the nation of Austria was expecting. She stays on course. 1.23 is the difference. Our new leader. The Dutch have had a great men's sitting skiing. Van Impelen... she's been really shining. Final few gates. The Dutch are dancing. Oh! 6/100 of a second. Claudia Loesch will not win gold here. The expression from the Austrian say it all. There is delight. There is only one person that can stop van Impelen, and this is Momoka Muraoka. Now is the time to get rid of those silly mistakes that were costly in the world cup series. Can she keep the speed? The 21-year-old Japanese it's skier with two Gates to go. Well inside. Momoka Muraoka of Japan at 21, is Paralympic champion. The celebrations belong to Japan. Japan have themselves a Paralympic Alpine champion. ( crowd cheer) now to the men's giant slalom. Several of the key figures in this year's visually impaired competition failed to finish in yesterday's super combined. Krako was one. But he set the early pace here. Bertagnolli was fastest with an impressive time. Super combined leader joined the pack. It was Bertagnolli's to lose going into the final rounds. Canada would fancy his chances of catching them. Here is Mark Marcoux. He was a little bit underwhelming. Mark who will be gunning for that mark. A quite brilliant ski there. By 1.42, he has done it. I think Bertagnolli will be pretty confident of beating this. This is Jakub Krako. At the moment, it is Jakub Krako. He was disqualified in the super combined. But just look At the history there of gold medals. I beg your pardon, three gold medals in Vancouver and one in Sochi. Comfortably, Krako moves to the top of the leaderboard. Still behind a little bit from the individual time of Bertagnolli. Is this now the crowning of the King? Harau said to be pushed off the podium altogether. He will be distraught about that. Here is Giacomo Bertagnolli. He's got it in the palm of his hand. Super combinable champion. Wasn't even close in the end. 5.08 is the margin. The winter Paralympic champion. We now completely set. Silver, bronze and gold. Haraus had a shocker in the open around and was pushed out. Krako takes a silver. Bertagnolli is our winner. The man standing category served up a familiar side. Bugaev rates into an early lead. Despite falling the super combined, Gmur of Switzerland already has two medals. He skied faster than everyone else. So Bugaev and Bauchet will do well to catch the flying Swiss. He wants another. This man has a suitcase full of silver medals. And he will have another. It is big news. Alexis Guimond. Six fastest after the first run. Talks himself inside. That is a good gap. 1.98 faster. Alexis Bugaev is inside. Guymon, he might have his eyes closed. One more mistake from the Canadian gets him there. He is normally quick. 18/100. Knocks him off the top spot. Gmur won the opening competitions. The spectators can see. He used to be at the top of the order. He has lots of little bit of time and he is leading to that section. 102 is the difference. Theo Gmur claims the Hattrick it is Theo Gmur who is the winner. The more open of the three men's classifications is a sitting group. USA has been featured on the podium anywhere. But he has given himself a good chance of the metal while Netherlands Golden boy Was disqualified, leaving the race for gold wide open. Poland's Sikorski was the third fastest. He gave them the run for their money. Tyler Walker's 106.30. If you matches that, that ultimately will be the mark that wins the gold medal. So he is outside that, Sikorski. Pedersen the bronze medalist. Only announced his existence last year. 15 the slalom. But he's on course for a metal here. He's going to be well inside the target. 2.45 seconds. While. Nearly 2 and half seconds better than Sikorski. Tyler Walker... Here he comes, Walker. Help by the disqualification of his opponent. He is looking really really good here. He has not been able to match the target. By .34 he has come up short. A phenomenal gold-medal `he will feel he has thrown it away. Igor Sikorski was in third place at the end of the first run. He remains exactly there at the end of the second run. On day five of the wheelchair curling There was a crucial match between Germany and Great Britain. With four stones to come, This stone was threaded through a crowded sheet. That was too much for Slovakia. With just one victory, the United States lay bottom of the standings And had struggled to establish themselves in the round robin Tournament. The Swiss got off to a positive start. The USA managed to level as the game progressed But going into the final end the swiss led by one point. That completed a disappointing match for the USA. It finished 7-4 to Switzerland, A tough campaign for the USA but some hope for the Swiss who had given them a chance of qualification. Lying 10th and 11th in the standings this would be a fight for local pride Between the Scandinavian neighbours Finland and Sweden. Finland had a two-point question over Sweden. The Finnish team built on that lead in the fourth. Sweden managed to make a game of it in the second. But eventually Finland prevailed. The travelling fans had not had much to cheer about so far. The Republic of Korea, second in the standings, had a great chance of qualification. A win here would only help their cause. But Norway was keen for a positive result.
