Welcome to PyeongChang. The last six individual medals were on the line in the cross-country skiing. With Canada aiming for a hat-trick of gold at these games. At the hockey centre it is hockey time. We have the best of the action as the hosts and Italy battled for bronze. Men's slalom was a focus on Alpine skiing as the men's categories concluded. And the new limpet champion was guaranteed in wheelchair curling. China or Norway will be crowned. Canada had already won two cross-country skiing medals and PyeongChang. He was aiming for 1/3 victory at these Paralympic games in the men's 10, to visually impaired. They are away. Sweden athlete rounded off for the men's 10k field. Safely directed. He was a leader early on, But this fall meets his race was over. Sebastian... Oh, that could have been really nasty. He was way off course. He is most significantly impaired with his vision. He is out of the race, as you can see. In the distinctive green of Belarus. Silver 20k. He knows how to make the podium. He was closely followed along by Brian. He put himself in a first-place temporarily. He has set the time. And probably a gold medal winning time. Next across the finish line is United States of America. He moved into second place. So the gold medal was won by Brian of Canada. The silver medal was won by United States. And bronze by number 73. The early leader in the men's 10, and a standing cross-country skiing Was Ukraine, Wearing blue. He was skiing alongside Canada. Those two will to push each other all the way to the finish. He enjoys a considerable advantage here. He is 11 seconds down. If he can pick it up, Maybe he can catch the Ukrainian. He is pushing on a for a minute better. He is looking very good here, The Ukrainian leader of the competition. A very busy place to be right now, the finishing line. That was quite a surge. He is pushed out of the gold medal position. Japan had produced a powerful final lap. Could he beat the time of 24 minutes and 15 seconds? That is a terrific last lap. 8.7. Japan has done it. What a finish. The gold medal was won by Japan. The silver was won by Ukraine. And the bronze was one by number 100. Neutral Paralympic athletes Had already won three gold medal at these games as she started the 7/2 a kilometre This would be a close race for the medals. The two Canadians coming through back-to-back. Here comes Ekaterina Rumyantseva. 10 seconds down on Young. Nice and tight at the top. You skiers within a very narrow range. Natalie Wilkie is really asking some questions From the athletes of Ukraine. Get something done here, Natalie Wilkie. Just enjoying the conditions. They have worked out the conditions a little better Then some of the others . They have the skis running a bit quicker . It can be as simple as that. Natalie Wilkie coming down to the line. Can this be a middle for Canada? Can it be a gold? She is giving it everything and she comes to the line. Really striding out. Pushing for the finish. And they are going to come across in a big hurry here. This is going to be very close. She is challenging her teammate. She is in silver medal position, less than two seconds behind. Ekaterina Rumyantseva comes down to the line to finish the woman is a seven K classic. She is inside Natalie Wilkie time. This is very close. She won't quite get there. She could squeeze into second. She does. Another silver medal. The gold medal was won by Natalie Wilkie of Canada. Silver by Ekaterina Rumyantseva. And the bronze by nnumber 124. Next on the cross-country course was the woman is a 7/2 km classic for visually impaired athletes. Sviatlana Sakhanenka is the one to beat. She is going here for the triple of gold medals. She won the sprint, 15 K. She will be very strong again here. One of the athletes chasing her was Austria. She is yet to win a medal at these games. Sviatlana Sakhanenka, we know she is quick. That clean sweep of the goals here and the woman is a visually impaired races It's very much on for Sviatlana Sakhanenka. 12.8 down. She is in the shade of Sviatlana Sakhanenka. Sviatlana Sakhanenka managed to extend her advantage By the time she reached the home straight. Look how much quicker she has got. This is the end of the 7 . Sviatlana Sakhanenka ultimately quicker. She will be hopeful of for another medal, Mikhalina Lysova. She is going to come well in, Over it is back. Really well done. The gold medal was won by Sviatlana Sakhanenka. The silver medal by Mikhalina Lysova. And the bronze by number 140. Daniel Cnossen of United States was aiming for his second gold medal at these games. He had the noisy support of the home crowd. He already won a bronze medal. Could he become the first ever athlete from Republic of Korea to win a gold medal at the Paralympic games? Sin Eui Hyun had a good start. He has some pretty quick company around them. Sin Eui Hyun, an enormous cheer from the crowd As they see his name go up on the big scoreboard here As in first position. There were only a few seconds between the leaders As they approach the finish. Daniel Cnossen was the first across the line, Setting the time to beat. Sin Eui Hyun is coming down to the line. Ahead of Daniel Cnossen time? Yes he is, by five seconds. He is in top spot. He is going to get something. Is it gold? What a moment it would be if we could confirm it. He is outside Sin Eui Hyun's time. This is going to confirm the medal for the host nation. But there we haven't. CORRECTION: have it. He is the first of the Republic of Korea to medal at championships, Now here's the first gold medal at the Paralympic games. Two familiar skiers were in contention for the gold medal and that women's 5 km sitting, Andrea Eskau of Germany was trying to keep place With Masters of United States of America. Neutral Paralympic athlete coming in. She is the one to beat. Is going to be very close. She will come in in top position by 1.9 seconds. Look at that. 43.4. She has blown the rest out of the water. Masters has kept up the pace here To come in with a flying finish. Andrea Eskau? No, it is going to be Masters. 11 seconds behind the American, Andrea Eskau. They have flipped the coin when it comes across country versus biathlon. Masters has done it again. The gold medal was won by Oksana Masters. The silver by Andrea Eskau. And the bronze by neutral Paralympic athlete Marta Zainullina. Day seven is a final match at the Gangneung Hockey Centre Saw Norway take on the Czech Republic. The winners of this one would classify as the fifth best team. Off the outside of the net. His first look at action. They don't record as a shot, But it is as close as you can get without getting one. Oh, baby! Lights are out As Norway has ripped the switch inside the first bid here. Oh my goodness. That is what happens. He has got a rocket launcher and it is in his pocket. He pulls it out like it's a lighter. Oh! They find a way to open it up. Always crafty. He had the master key after all. He had to search through his ring and he found it. It bounced off the end boards. He slots it in. In and around, trying to get out front. Don't want to start the opponents break out either. A really quiet chapter, but look at that. Pedersen has wrapped it. He has jacked another Norwegian goal. This is about snapping hard, Taking your moment and he hits it. They really do need to assert here. This will just give them a chance to play the game. They don't want to chase it late. He scores! That was a laser beam. It was like a red radar. Pedersen is slowed up for a moment. Is this locked-in? They score. Holy! They have to get to the Norwegians quickly. And from a long-range, they find a way to hit the empty net. Norway looks as though they have sealed the deal here. There is another shot. Up and over. That is going to be at As the full 45 minutes has been played. The final result ` # "Whole World" by Gabe Simon FATHER: 'When she saw her favorite animals' '- all in real life-' 'her face just lit up.' 'And when I saw that? Well, mine did too.' NARRATOR: 'When you book a flight with Expedia,' 'and add a hotel or activity,' 'you can save.' 'Everything you need to go.' 'EXPEDIA.' In the Alpine it was the final day of the men's competition for the slalom runs. Athletes compete to runs on two different causes. There times are added together to determine final standings. Times are adjusted according to the athlete level of physical impairment. Visually impaired Jakub Krako will be looking to add to his already impressive time. It is not going badly at all. All of these athletes are classified. Each athletes classification. Slovakia other team with the most middle so far. Jakub Krako is one of those who has contributed to that list. The slalom is a difficult event. Instructions come through Bluetooth headsets from the guides and they have to be very precise. Giacomo Bertagnolli he is back by 1.35. He is really starting to look like it could be the one to take all the way. Giacomo Bertagnolli has managed to find some speed on the bottom section. He is into second. It is looking good for Slovakia. Valerii Redkozubov Coming down with his guide. Can he hold on to his time? He has got to hold on to his time to do so. He is only just inside. This is Jakub Krako. He is wide here. When you have only got a slender lead, that can be so costly. Giacomo Bertagnolli. .84 is good. Skiing was the first sporty tried and he fell in love straightaway. Can he medal? Yes. The pressure is now on. He has missed gate at the end. Jakub Krako finishes in second. The leader after the first round misses the final gate on the course. That is a real drama. Gold medallist at years ago inventor Hoover was hoping to add to his bronze here in PyeongChang. He skied first in the standing category. Can Adam Hall add to that bronze? Adam Hall looking at another medal on the slopes of PyeongChang/ The reigning champion went just a little bit further back up that slope. He is the 1st to get across the line. 48.69. Jamie Stanton. What has he got? He is still ahead. Can the United States of America top the leaderboard going into the second run? There are loads of athletes also come. We have a new leader. Arthur Bauchet. His contingent at the bottom are making noise. He crossed the line. He has .03 the other way. He comes second. No stopping Jamie Stanton at the moment. Adam Hall from New Zealand. Nothing is going wrong. He is about to beat that results. 3.64 with 3 to go in the contention spaces. This man knows how to win silvers. It was a good performance from Hall. It was a good time. Is that enough? Arthur Bauchet is now behind/ He has been brilliant in these games. He has only managed silvers. Jamie Stanton. Jamie Stanton is behind by 4/10 of a second. Can he find something big on the bottom half? Jamie Stanton has a few more gates to claim Paralympic gold. No. Adam Hall returns to gold medal winning form. There are the official standings for men's slalom. Adam Hall from New Zealand takes it from Arthur Bauchet. Jamie Stanton takes third. After being disqualified in the sitting, into the bottom of the course. He gets to set the first time. 48.40. Dino Sokolovic. Dino Sokolovic weaving his way through. He is a big fellow. .73. Tyler Walker. He has been fairly faultless in his performances. Notice the aerodynamics on the front of his mono ski towards the line. .68. Boyd we have a competition now. How exciting is this? Ff. Frederic Francois The 41 year old Frenchman. A big slide. Altogether for Frederic Francois That could be hugely costly for the Frenchman. Dino Sokolovic from Croatia. The Croatians are cheering at the bottom of the run. There are some bumps in this bottom section. He is holding on. Final gate. He crosses the line. 2.21. Tyler Walker. One small mistake. .05. That is a huge one. He goes second. He is just 18. Doesn't turn 19 until early April. Can he make the gates? is it even with it? Dino Sokolovic of Croatia's the Paralympic champion. It was so close. Day eight at the curling centre. We have reached the middle stage. Both Canada and the Republic of Korea had been disappointed to lose out on the semifinals and a seven, But they have the chance of the Paralympic bronze medal. Two stones go in the first end. Mark Ideson looking for anywhere into the eight-foot. The line looks really nice. Weight is absolutely... That is a great shot by Mark Ideson. I would probably use the middle stone here. Less granite to run the energy through. Every time a rock hit it transfers a percentage of its momentum to the next rock. The more you've gotta run through, the faster that momentum disappears. It's a disaster. A real shame. Bad start for Korea. Canada is sitting three. This is the last stone. Korea is going to need some very high production from this rock if they are going to slow that Canadian squad down. Cha Jaegoan needs one of the best shots of the week. What a shot! That is a way to do it right they are. (CHEERING) Momentum is to Korea all of a sudden. The score still sees Canada but this will be quite the match. If Mark Ideson can make this shot here, Then that would put them 1 foot on the doorstep for that bronze medal. Just one, but he keeps his stone around. It makes it difficult for Korea to get in there and score to. Very tough shot here. The final stone. Cha Jaegoan needs to bring one of his best out here. Line is looking good. Does it have the weight? It looks pretty close. It needs to curl now. An attempt by Cha Jaegoan. It will be a huge ask for them in the eighth and. This is a really risky play here from Mark Ideson. If they don't get it right then Korea could be playing take out. This is a must make here from Mark Ideson. They are making things extremely difficult for themselves in these last couple of ends. They have lost track of the time and are rushing a bit. They have had a couple of misses. They need this garden a good spot. Mark Ideson has placed it near perfectly. Courier need to find a way to get that yellow stone out there. The clock is ticking. This needs to be made to get career the chance to win their second ever Paralympic medal. It's not going to be made. This end is over and Canada have won the bronze medal. The Canadian fans giving a big reception to the bronze medallists. A well deserved victory for the Canadians here. An ice hockey, Italy took on the Republic of Korea. Both nations took on the first ever medal in the sport. Could Italy upset the host nations party? Really accelerating forward and this could be an opportunity. What an opening that was. Still going for the effort And he is blocked very well indeed. It was a great decision to cut back against the grain And force the Italians to stretch and reach. If they connect that pass, Korea was in a good position. On to the Italian. This is a very physical game, as we expected. Wow what a moment. Fortunate to be credited with the goal against the United States in the semi-final With a huge moment. He was in a golden position and he comes out the shooting. He had every opportunity there to fire a bullet. And again that scramble for possession is had and won by the Koreans. There is a space. The rebound is lost. We thought it was going to be a goal. He is showing you exactly the steely nature of the Italian defence. Korea coming out on top. When I say defence in terms of the Italian, the goaltender is the star man. How many more opportunities are the Koreans going to spurn? Once, twice and three times as a charm. Stays with the poster boy of these games for Korea. And he says, no dice. Trying to turn and be the assassin. He has the option now to flank. If his arms were inch longer, he may have won the bronze medal for Italy. They are on their feet. That is a goal! Eruption at the Gangneung Hockey Centre. He may have just one an historical bronze medal For the Republic of Korea on home ice At the Paralympic Winter games. As is a legal goal though? I guarantee you, they will have a look at it. He wanted to get it with his shooting arm. Instead, it arrives a little bit late and it goes off his lead. I think that is incidental direction of the park And therefore it is going to be a good goal. While the Italians have got six white jerseys in the defence of zone, this is one opportunity to rescue the game and the middle and full since overtime. It is not where they want it. The chances there again and it's wide. A left blade shot. The countdown is on. What a miraculous challenge. The Republic of Korea Get their first ever Paralympic medal and ice hockey. Iit's come here at the Gangneung Hockey Centre. A very proud, determined, resilient effort from both of these teams. We felt that it was going to be a one opportunity game As the final score, the Republic of Korea with a late goal. And this is special. It is special because in the sport, They just won gold. The North Americans are the best in the world. And then it's the rest. And these athletes here from Korea Have just arrived to the top of the podium of the rest. So, to the final of the wheelchair for curling tournament. For China, this match guaranteed the first ever Paralympic medal, But would it be silver or gold? We join the action. The steely eyed Norwegian. His last rock here In the gold medal game in this first end. He would love to get a little bit of a role inside here. It is looking wide at the moment. He has missed completely. China have a draw for three. Can you believe it? Is a great call there. Fresh air on the outside. And this man has had several of these shots Through the tournament, these open drawers. He has consistently made his opposition pay For giving him the opportunity. He must think all his Christmases had come at once right now. They are encouraging it to get down now. It's gotta go. It's short. What a let off for Norway. After that huge mess, He can't convert. Score of two in the first end. The way it stands now... If Norway can land a rock on that tramline, They could block all access. He doesn't look convinced. He is changing his own target. A little bit less ice. This one just trying to plug the hole. It has quite a lot of running on it at the moment. It won't bother the guards too much. That's not going to change the situation. And may well be able to play down through the port In chip the yellow out. This is the only team out here that does both players holding their chair a little extra stability. Let them line up. Right down the right tramline. I'm sure there is a lot of momentum in there. Oh, hello. How unlucky is that for China? He catches a guard, Rolls over and he pushes another Norwegian stone And the Norwegian can hardly believe their luck. How are Norway in the lead? This is his final stone of the seventh end. Maybe the pressure just getting to the Norwegian is a little bit. This one is curling hard. They need the full 12 foot for 1/3 point. China drawing for a huge score of three here in the seventh end. Final stone. He has not made many draws in this game, but if there is a time to do it, it is right here and now. He was short with its first one. He needs it to stop. Oh my. Only a score of two. What a chance to move to shots ahead with just one end to go. He cannot work out the speed of the ice at the moment. Rune Lorensten sends his second last Stone of the eighth. It is running. He has made a good effort. It opens up that four foot. He wanted to sit right in front of the Chinese stone, counting on the fact they were trying to blast at it. Now China has the chance to hit and roll and put that stone right back where it was. You can cut the tension with a knife here. He is holding him still. He delivers his final stone. Just needs to get that Norwegian stone. Went a little wide. He does enough to chip it out. He needs to make it, the final stone to force an extra end. He has! Unbelievable. Stone cold under pressure, Rune Lorensten Makes the hit and stick. china force wider and wider out on to the right hand side of the sheet. Looks like a good speed here. He's got the line as well. That could be a gold medal draw From Chen Jianxin. The benches celebrating that one. Now Norway in big trouble. Just skip stones left. Rune Lorensten, one of the all-time greats, Needs one of the all-time greatest shots here. Lining straight, hanging out there, Waiting for it to curl. Need to come down now. Just misses the edge of that. That was so close to being made. Great attempt, nice weight by him. Not a lot of rotation. Is it wide enough? It isn't, I don't think. They seem pretty happy with it. Maybe just. Just trying to tap that Yellowstone into the forefoot, Into shot position. If he doesn't make it, China will be the gold medallists. It is on its way. Plenty of rotation. Needs to curl. Need to curl now. He is past the guard. Was an effort. It is not good enough though. Doesn't push it far enough. China other gold medallist Here in the world chair curling event in the gang Yong cooling centre. They are on top of the world. Unbelievable scenes. Probably the most valuable player for any team throughout the week. Final score here ` People's Republic of China, 6. Norway, 5. 12 nations fought it out over the course of the wheelchair cooling turn and, But it was People's Republic of China who emerged victorious. So it was gold for the Chinese team. Wang Meng. Liu Wei. Chen Jianxin. Wang Haitao. The first time ever That a nation other than Canada has one Paralympic gold and wheelchair curling. Their first Paralympic medal for China.
