(WHISTLE BLOWS) A real scrap going on. Kara and Ward. Rickett isn't even here. She has an illness and has stayed back in the team headquarters. She did start the match against Australia. Fakahokotau, that's it. Start putting some pressure on the feeders. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) a march of scoring from Jamaica. The confidence to turn and let the ball go. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) Beckford. Doing what she needs to do. Six from six, Beckford. A brilliant pickup from Jamaica. Aiken with a long shot. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) confidence is growing. They have gone through a patch where they lost the lead to New Zealand, and now they lead by five. Bailey Mes coming through the top of the circle. Missed by her teammates. There she goes. Just brilliant. Sterling, she says she really admires Harrison, the New Zealand player. She shows traits of that. Building confidence now. Why wouldn't you when your teammate is down the other end producing some scintillating tips like that. Confidence at both ends of the court. Fakahokotau. Good work. The defence on the outside which allows that ball to go short to Aiken. That gave Fakahokotau the op. She couldn't find Folau or Mes. Ekenasio coming on to the court. Mes leaves the game, 12 from 20. Giving it what she could. Brilliant, Fakahokotau. Came right of the body, trying to confuse the space, then having a go for the intercept. Grant is up against it. Sshe had her fingers to the ball but the ball wasn't there. Grabbed it, one hand. (WHISTLE BLOWS) intentional obstruction. Where you are now. Good call. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) Another for Folau. Pressure from Grant, pressuring every pass. That is what you need. Kirsten doing her best. Once you get the circle edge, it is so hard for the defenders on the inside. New Zealand has gone from being up by one to trailing by seven. This third quarter has really hurt them, like Australia yesterday. Folau. Good screen set by Ekenasio. Kersten, good hustle. Sterling. Goalkeeper, contact. It hasn't stopped her. She is still coming out and looking for the ball. You need to stand off the player. She still attacks, doesn't she? Brilliant. Getting the ball moving on the outside. She moves the defence on the inside. Ekenasio with the goal. I like what Fakahokotau is doing. She is coming off the player moving around. Trying to create opportunities for herself. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) Fowler-Reid stays out of this game. She started this match dominant. Coming towards the end of the third quarter. It is frustrating, the Silver Ferns had the opportunity to close the gap and they have let themselves down. Forcing Bedford to take the shot. One minute remains in the third quarter. Great intercept. Brilliant from Grant. This will they need to do ` attack. Ekenasio. (WHISTLE BLOWS) Fakahokotau llooking for the opportunity to take the intercept. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) Silver Ferns trailing in the third quarter. Jamaica really owning this. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) Folau owning her goal attack position. The countdown to the final quarter. There is the Aussie training coming in for Aiken. The hooter sounds. New Zealand got up to a level in this quarter, But now they trail by seven. We come into the fourth and final quarter very soon. New Zealand have to turn on one of the best quarters If they are to get up and win this match against Jamaica And secure the bronze medal. A very good second quarter. They did take the lead early in the third quarter, but they lost it. It is now 46-39. 15 minutes for the ferns to really pick themselves up. Big shot. All New Zealand fans agree that the presence of Folau is so important. (CROWD CHEERS) 17 from 21 for her. Obstruction, wing. We reflect on those stats, to make with 21 deflections and the silver ferns with seven. Contact, wing, We mentioned before, Folau, without doubt, taking on the majority responsibility and that shooting circle. Great work again from Fakahokotau. She is giving herself the opportunity to come up with` Wow! A block of the shot. That is what we're seeing from Stirling at the other end. How good was that ? We really need to see goals being scored down this end. They have missed both of those opportunities. Williams jumping the shot. Advantage, obstruction. No option there. If in doubt, throw it up in the air. The firm's defenders are forcing her to take that shot. Williams going into the goal defence position. Romelda Aiken on the other end. Percentages of shooting a 67% New Zealand versus 88 for Jamaica. The silver ferns need a turnover here. Not just a turnover, but to get a result out of it. Again Beckford going out of court, but just manages to throw it up in the air. Tidying things up for Jamaica. They are going to inflict another defeat on this New Zealand team. Nice roll out by Ekenasio and great confidence and placement by Sam Sinclair. We need more of that from the ferns. Two defenders back on Aiken. Beckford just throws it up. Ekenasio. Same pattern. There is Fakahokotau. She is doing the right things. Advantage, obstruction. Brilliant work from Beckford. She really has been one of those players you don't notice But she is doing all the work on the outside And getting a lot of balls. Very good. There was a Jamaican coach, Sasha Henry. No longer do I have to worry about one option, have to worry about two. Aiken makes that easy, Easy rebound for her. Sterling. New Zealand play quickly from the centre pass. Contact, goal defence. Bronze medal match ` 8 deficit. Not a great position to play we've got a GS like that. Her reach Is as high as the net, anyway. It is a good target. JUST fire at the post. Just beautiful to watch. Not sure we will see someone like her for a very, very long time. Been a privilege to play alongside her. We are very much getting into the final stages of the Commonwealth games campaign for the silver ferns. They are battling it out against a maker CORRECTION: Jamaica. As a coach, this is where you have to make a decision around We need to win this game. There is a bronze medal on the line. But then you also look at how are we going to finish this and how are we going to move forward? Do I need to look at some other players? Do I need to give other players some opportunity ? Everyone has been out on court in this match except one player. Just six goals now. Still a chance for the silver ferns. There is plenty of time. Using both their shooters. Beckford being forced into taking a few more shots these couple of quarters. Trailing by six. Great. Here we go. Here it is. Good work again. Maria Folau goes again to the top of the circle and opens up that opportunity. New Zealand hits the 50 mark and trails by five. Adine Thomas calling for time. There will be a change for the Jamaican team. Feeling like they needed some extra energy, perhaps, in the centre position. Sterling called for contact. Thompson come into that centre position for Jamaica. Now how does Jamaica respond to this? There is now a four goal advantage they have. Pressure coming on for the silver ferns. Claire Kersten called for a couple of contacts. Goes back to 5. Sinclair is looking sharper tonight than she did last night. Folau with that longshot. Great work by Ekenasio. Unfortunate, can't get it to 1 of her teammates. Position is still with Jamaica. How is going to stand up for the silver ferns? We need a turnover here. It does not necessarily have to come from someone with a D on their back either. Everyone is on edge here. That was Fowler-Reid, who started brilliantly for Jamaica. Jamaica won two games back to back against the Silver Ferns. Can they make it three? Beckford is happy to take the shot. Fakahokotau back on to the court. She is straight into work. Jamaica is finishing it off. They will be sensing it now. It will take a miracle for the silver fans to come back from this. Great pressure from Fakahokotau on the shot of Aiken. Ahead by eight. Just over two minutes to play. The silver ferns being forced to lie back to that transfer. Great defensive work by Jamaica. They are still not allowing the silver ferns to get easy goals. Folau looking for an option in the circle. It wasn't on. That young girl, Sterling, has been outstanding in this game. She is really putting the pressure on the silver fern shooters. Fakahokotau holding on to Aiken. They are looking for Ekenasio. Sterling just getting around Ekenasio. This will be disappointment, huge and bitter disappointment for the ferns. Their worst showing at the Commonwealth games. They put everything out there, they have done everything they possibly could, But it has not shown on the board for them. Jamaica will deserve the win and take the bronze medal at this Commonwealth games. The silver ferns will have a couple of weeks off, there will be a review. We probably won't see the results of that till May. Well done, Jamaica. And to the silver ferns, absolute devastation, no doubt. Last play comes from New Zealand. 60 to 54. It would be fitting if they finish this on a point. She does. (HOOTER BLARES) Jamaica has won the bronze medal. They are absolutely delighted. New Zealand fought back in the second quarter And took the lead at one stage, But just unable to take advantage. They look bitterly disappointed, of course. Very emotional. Hard work for this team. The silver ferns lose to Jamaica. Jamaica are the bronze medal winners. A gutting loss for the silver ferns. It will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. For the first time in Commonwealth history, the silver ferns walk away without a medal. Right now there's another New Zealand team going for gold. TAKING YOU LIVE, The Kiwis are one set up. This is the start of the second set. There is Landers-Murphy at her best. Between the legs. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) what a ripper! Did you see Joelle's face? Still watching the ball. Unbelievable. The New Zealanders are just steaming ahead. Once they are on a roll, they're tough. (LAUGHS) this is unbelievable. 12 minutes we've had for the match. Wow. These girls do not hang around. Down. Two errors for the kiwis. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) tthat is the Kiwis again on fire. 4-2. This is so enjoyable. Starting to get some angles. She got it! Oh! How does she do it?! That is a great get by Chinappa. Look at this, Joey. Ooh! Wow. Good work from Chinappa. Landers-Murphy getting through, playing the ball. She clawed it. She's hanging on for dear life. Nearly produced a winner. Landers-Murphy was under it. Scraping the balls back. She managed to manoeuvre around. Good hands there. 6-2. Kiwis are up 6-2. They are on a roll. There is that drill mark she got the other day. Well played. Terrific shot from Chinappa. Trying to make a stand. MAN: Go India! They get the stroke. India is fighting back. A few words of advice from King. Oh, just at the top of the tin. A good fight back from India. 5-6. Smart. Such a clever shot. A good bit of fire from Pallikal Karthik. There is nothing they can say or do. They have to get on with it. 7-6. Joelle King has called out in the mid of the rally. The refs didn't call it down, so they've stopped. Landers-Murphy couldn't get the last one up. Crucial. 7 all. Ooh! Stroke to New Zealand. Chinappa, two strokes given away. Good angle. Quick hands. Oh! Ooh-hoo-hoo! I thought that was close to being a stroke. It was far enough forward. Very intense. Landers-Murphy! 9-7. Clever play by Joelle King! The New Zealand pairing are on the verge. Chinappa and Pallikal Karthik, medallists from four years ago. Three match balls for New Zealand. Bit of a smile from Landers-Murphy. This is huge. This is the biggest serve of her life. Oh! Commentators curse. A bit of sweat, actually. Grip slipped. Huge pressure for her. Match ball for Kiwis. Dipika looked around, worried. No lets! We have seen a few times! Landers-Murphy and Joelle King. They take the gold medal! (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) the Indians are very disappointed. Wonderful game from the New Zealanders. Landers-Murphy getting the first gold medal. The high-fives. A terrific performance. Double gold medallist Joelle King. Landers-Murphy was producing fantastic squash. (CHEERING, APPLAUSE) Glenn Wilson getting the gold medals. These two girls made squash massive in New Zealand. What a games. SO JOELLE, A DOUBLE GOLD MEDDALIST AND A BRONZE AT THESE GAMES. We will try get some reaction from her later on. STAY WITH US REACTION FROM THE SILVER FERNS NEXT. THAT IS THE THIRD MEDAL FOR JOELLE KING ADDING TO HER GOLD IN THE WOMEN'S SINGLES AND BRONZE IN THE MIXED DOUBLES. THAT'S TWO MEDALS FOR NEW ZEALAND TODAY AFTER THE TALL BLACKS WON THEIR BRONZE MEDAL FINAL AGAINST SCOTLAND. WE NOW HAVE 13 GOLD, 16 SILVER AND 15 BRONZE TO BRING OUR TOTAL TO 44 MEDALS. BUT WE STILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADD 2 MORE GOLDS TO OUR TOTAL, WITH THE MEN'S AND WOMENS SEVENS TEAMS MAKING THE GOLD MEDAL FINAL. BUT IT WASN'T ALL CELEBRATIONS FOR THE KIWIS TODAY. THE SILVER FERNS LOSING TO JAMAICA IN THE BRONZE MEDAL MATCH 60 TO 55. ABBY WILSON CAUGHT UP WITH CAPTAIN KATRINA GRANT AFTER THE GAME. Katrina, Capt. Which was not ever for the team at a major tournament. What words can use to describe it ? Disappointed. Gutted. We don't play this game to lose. It is just ready hard. We have come here to win a gold medal. WE didn;t even win a medal. It is just hard. We have not had the right direction the last few months. We train really hard. Players can only say so much and huddles. We do need to learn to lift each other. I am honestly lost for words. It's really tough. He spoke about a loss of direction And watching that third-quarter break There didn't seem to be a lot of confidence or eye contact with the coach. We are team of 12. We try to lead from the front. This group of women is amazing. We love this game. We love training we love being with each other. It is really hard. Our families have come here support us and we cannot thank them enough. Our fans will be disappointed But we've had so many messages of support. We would hope that we can pick ourselves up And we have the World Cup in July next year. We can put a lot of work in between now and then. There needs to be a massive review of this And figure out where it's gone wrong, It is not rest on anyone Apart from everybody, if you know I mean. We all need to take this possibility. We need to figure out what has gone wrong and fix it quick. Janine's record with silver fences on their 51% record. Placed on the do so much. Death and that's good enough? CORRECTION: do you think that's good enough ? No. The women at the back are amazing and will always have my back. It is ready hard being the captain and having such a poor record And that is something that I look at too. So many people back in New Zealand will be watching this and they were rooting for you. What is your message to them? Thank you. I know we have is appointed a lot of people We have pride, we have heart, we love our country. We would do anything we could for them. We later hearts down today We are physically and emotionally completely drained. Probably will break down tomorrow But that means that we did everything we could to try and make this a successful campaign. Which we haven't. We need to learn from this. It's not who we are. Nibble is number one sport for women in New Zealand and we need to keep it that way. CORRECTION: Netball . Are you just holding yourself together or as is the toughest it's ever been? This is the toughest it has ever been. I think I am emotionally done. We have been to the dumps and back And then back again. We will see what happens. This team is sticking together We just love playing the game. We just need to be better and we want to be better. It is tough losing. Hopefully a review will offer some answers. Things can only get better. Definitely. A lot to review for Katrina Grant and the rest of her team. Abby also talked to the coach Janine. The worst ever so often the result at a major tournament. This has got to hurt. It does hurt. Everyone is very upset It is not what we wanted. It is devastating. You now have a 51% winning record as the silver fence coach. What does this mean for your future? We have to go to the review process and decisions will be made. At this stage, I am not making any calls. It did not seem like there was much eye contact between you and the players. What was your message to them? You have got to keep fighting and do the job you are tasked to do. Again, shooting problems. We saw Bailey struggle. Should we have changed her earlier? You can see lots of things looking back. She looked confident Defenders at a great job. What you think is been the biggest problem this tournament? Believe it. They have got to have the belief and conviction they can do it. Do you take response Billy as coach? CORRECTION: responsibility. Absolutely. What we do now as we go away, we debrief, It is another space to be in. We will learn from it and come back. The Silver ferns are coming to grips with not getting a medal for the first time ever at the Commonwealth games. WE'LL TRY GET REACTION FROM OUR SQUASH PLAYERS VERY SOON. AND WE'LL HAVE HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR MEN'S BASKETBALL VICTORY AND THEN FROM FOUR OCLOCK THE MEDAL ROUNDS OF THE SEVENS COMPETITION. BOTH NEW ZEALAND MENS AND WOMENS ARE VYING FOR GOLD. NOW THE TALL BLACKS SECURED A WIN OVER SCOTLAND TO BAG THE BRONZE MEDAL. HERE IS THE START OF THAT MATCH. Achara wins the tack. Elevates. Fires! Gets it done. they like to get Murray going. Good start. Te Rangi. He set his man up beautifully. Up and in, Thomas Abercrombie. Thomas Abercrombie elevates. Scottish player wearing the face mask after breaking his nose against India. Bunyan. What a start to the game! Scotland scores the first six. Thomas Abercrombie's effort was there. The way they are fighting has been poor. Tthis is what I expect to see from New Zealand. This is how they made a comeback from Canada. Bunyan, he has shown some range. You have to show your opponent a little bit more respect than that. Bunyan hands over. This is a genuine character test for New Zealand. They are not showing enough respect to the Scottish team. Bunyan, quick. Murray wants to go solo. Thomas Abercrombie is good, but Gareth Murray comes up. They lead by 7! Similarities to what we saw yesterday. What a play from Vukona. This is him on the glass.
