  • 1Price Freezes On Tuesday Prime Minister Robert Muldoon declared a 12 month freeze on wages, prices and rents and an indefinite freeze on interest rates. This is designed to squeeze high inflation out of the economy. Inflation was at 15.5% last year. There has been strong reaction to this freeze, both for and against.
